Library Cards

REGISTERING FOR or RENEWING YOUR LIBRARY CARD
Effective January 1, 2009, residents of the towns of Waterbury and Duxbury may receive a free library card upon completing an application and showing proof of residence.  Adult residents of other towns may receive a library card by following this application process and paying a $10 annual fee.  Children ages 5 through 18 and students with a valid school ID may obtain library cards free of charge, regardless of their town of residence.  Parents must sign agreeing to assume responsibility for materials borrowed by children under age 16.

As part of the process of implementing this change in our membership structure, all current Waterbury Public Library Cards will expire on  December 31, 2008.  Current library members will be asked to show proof of address and renew their membership the first time they check out materials in 2009.  The annual $10 nonresident fees will be due at that time.
