The Day of the Pelican by Katherine Paterson recounts the journey of a Muslim family fleeing ethnic cleansing in the Balkans and landing i
n Vermont. Author Katherine Paterson was recently named the National Ambassador for Young People’s Literature by the Library of Congress, and has won numerous literary awards for her work. Multiple copies are available at the circulation desk.
A community-wide discussion of this book will be held on Wednesday, March 31st at 7:00 PM in the Crossett Brook Middle School Library.
